Why doesn't my VGA monitor work with the DVM2?
The DVM2 outputs interlaced video, while most computer monitors expect progressive video. If you want to see whether your monitor can take interlaced video signals, check the manual and specs. Often times there is a listing for Multisync or it will have options for computer mode vs composite mode etc... Also plug in a VCR's component outputs to the monitor/projector. Does it show video when you play a tape? If it does you are in the right mode (interlaced), so focus on troubleshoooting the DVM2. You can connect your computer video output to the monitor as well. If you do get the computer's output, you're in the wrong mode(progressive).
If you suspect the DVM2 is not outputting video to the 15pin RGB connector, first verify the unit is playing (top left green status LED is on and harddrive red hard drive activity on the bottom left is blinking). Then verify video is coming from the composite video out (yellow RCA) with a regular TV monitor or something similar. Then verify the red DIP switches on the back of the unit are the following: 7on 8 off for RGB.
