Video files on my DVM/HD play correctly when played alone, but not in a playlist. Why?

The files must have identical encoding parameters to be played seamlessly. The DVM/HD defaults to 'seamless' mode when clips are placed sequentially in a playlist, concatenating the files during playback. If the encoding parameters (bitrate, picture size, frame rate, etc.) are different between two adjacent files, the unit will attempt to decode the second file with the same parameters as the first file. To eliminate this problem, place a G command at the beginning of the playlist. This will cause the DVM/HD to enter segmented mode, playing each file individually according to its parameters. If the encoding parameters are identical but the video glitches at the beginning of each clip transition, there is likely an MPEG buffer underflow or overflow being caused by the stream concatenation. To eliminate this problem, remultiplex the streams using the http://www.manzanitasystems.com/products/mp2tsm.htm]Transport Stream Terminator from Manzanita Systems. This software remuxes the streams to guarantee that concatenation can be accomplished while eliminating buffer problems.
