During playback, the screen occasionally goes to black, or the unit repeats frames. What's wrong?

These problems are symptoms of a buffer underflow error. This is caused when the stream reports that it should be played at a particular bitrate, but it does not provide enough information within itself to be played at that rate. This problem can occasionally be eliminated by remultiplexing the stream using a problem-free multiplexor (such as http://www.manzanitasystems.com/products/mp2tsm.htm]Manzanita Systems Transport Stream Multiplexor with Terminator). If this does not correct the problem, the video was encoded incorrectly and should be re-encoded.
